Conservation Project Management

I have been doing some interesting work with Wilkins Builders of Calne. Works relates to renovation and refurbishment of an 18th-century house in Devizes, Wiltshire.

The refurbishment scheme has been interesting and during removal of internal paneling and wall coverings the property is revealed some interesting anomalies. Venetian blinds hidden behind wall paneling have been found which has been great because they are in suitable condition to get ‘working again’ and anomalies with the flue arrangement for the numerous fires will require careful considerations particularly when relining flues to comply with the building regulations.

It is good to be using traditional building materials again!!

The works are progressing well but with several variations to the contract (as to be expected).
